FESTIVAL OF HOPE – soloscuola

Dear Students and Teachers,

On behalf of high school students at the International School of Bologna we are delighted to invite liceo students from Italian secondary schools to the first ever Festival of Hope Conference in Italy, Wednesday 9 April 2025.

This student-led conference is made possible through the collaborative effort of the Association of IB World Schools in Italy (AIBWSI), the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), and the host school.

The Festival of Hope is a global initiative launched by the IBO as an open invitation and inspiration to bring issues that matter most in young people’s life and community to the foreground. No challenge is too small, and no idea for change is too ambitious. Standing up for the causes closest to young people’s hearts is an act of hope and can also provide the spark that inspires others to stand together.

Designed to unite people in this challenging moment, the Festival of Hope is about creating spaces where teenagers can come to speak their mind and feel heard. To come together to turn complex challenges into positivity and hope.

At the Festival of Hope Conference in Bologna – for students by students – ISB students are giving the floor to each and everyone, including students from your school: their voices matter!

The conference will be held in English, thus students should be somewhat comfortable communicating (listening and speaking) in this language. You decide if anyone from your liceo community wants to present a topic at the conference or whether you wish to simply engage as participants. No matter your choice, we would be thrilled to host you at the Festival of Hope on 9 April.

Per ripassare gli ultimi argomenti dell’anno scorso ho proposto alle classi terze una PHOTO CHALLENGE da completare durante le vacanze: gli studenti dovevano fotografare una natura morta composta da loro, un paesaggio completamente naturale, un ritratto fatto con degli oggetti, un’opera d’arte che hanno visto in qualche luogo o che hanno in casa e due tipi di prospettiva, una centrale e una accidentale. Le foto andavano inserite in una presentazione condivisa attraverso l’assegnazione del compito in Google Classroom. Il suggerimento è stato quello di fare le foto (e non copiarle da internet… tanto me ne accorgo ;)) e non deformare le foto per farle stare nelle caselle assegnate, ma ritagliarle per inserirle nelle caselle in modo ordinato e preciso.
